If Biden is as weak as some think, she could be the next president.

Joe ( publically ) challenged Trump to a push-up contest.  :)

And of course anyone elected president will have instant access to the best possible medical care, and always have a doctor travelling with them.

This is straight up disgusting and the president approves it:

When Obama introduced him yesterday, Biden ran up to the stage.  Didn’t look winded.

Imagine what might happen if Biden wins...

None of this is shocking.  And here I thought they were about jobs not mobs... ::)

I guess this is the answer to ANTIFA/BLM riots.

>If Biden is as weak as some think

Mentally and politically.  People are worried about Biden's mental acuity and his position in the Democratic party with respect to its most progressive sub-factions, not his ability to knock off 20 pushups and jog onto a stage.

Read more widely.

I do.  I try to steer clear of the conspiracy quack stuff though.  If you have something you could point to i’d appreciate it.  Most of that stuff about his health and mental acuity seems to be pushed by the Trump side.  And I can see why THEY are worried about Biden in any shape or form.

Thanks.

It's a partisan game.  The people who rejoice in every Trumpism (as did some over Bushisms), and solemnly pretend to worry whether it means the president's mind is slipping have no interest in whether Biden's verbal tics, occasionally confused and mangled utterances, and apparent weariness mean anything; the people who wonder about Biden have not much interest in finding fault with Trump (nor with Bush, in his time).

Just as there are Republicans who will not vote for Trump, choosing either Biden or a third candidate, there are Democrats whose first choice was not Biden, who would welcome an excuse to replace him.  The progressive wing in particular would prefer someone more progressive.  They can't have Bernie, but Kamala will do, especially since she is not also old-white-man.  But first Biden has to win, so the conversation isn't loud.  If some people are casually and openly spitballing competency and corruption what-ifs, it is easy to imagine that some are thinking the possibilities through seriously and in detail.

Ah yes.  Good points.

I can’t recall if those on the Bernie Sanders side used that line of attack in the primaries.  I know they attacked Biden but I’m not 100% sure if that is what they used.  I’m sure though that the progressive wing will try to exert whatever influence they have on Biden.  I guess it will depend on who is in ça I ate and more importantly who his COS is.

I’m not sure I would label Harris as part of that progressive wing though.  Remember, what some people consider “progressive” is the US would still be labelled conservative here.

One way or another though, Biden will be a one term president if elected.  Who likely will be setting the groundwork for someone else and their policies.  I can see what you are saying and the concern Democrats might have.  Not dissimilar to concerns that Republicans have about Trump.

I wouldn't be surprised if both candidates are pumped full of vitamins and a cognitive program of some kind, i.e. Provigil...

Victor Davis Hanson writing in the National Review writes:

If we were to wake up in 2022, would we be more likely to see a 15-person Supreme Court, a Senate without a filibuster, a nation without an Electoral College, and an effort to admit two more states and with them four more senators if Joe Biden or Donald Trump were president?

Why would we blow up a nine-justice Supreme Court after 151 years, or a 233-year Electoral College, or a 170-year Senate filibuster, or a 60-year 50-state Union? And why now? What is the theme, the argument, the momentum for shattering these traditions, other than that progressives see them as ancient impediments to their radical ends?

VDH asks a question on just about every topic you can think of in this election.

VDH is a military historian at Stanford University, I'm surprised more people on here don't follow his writings.
