Unless they fight themselves they will be the likely invaders. Wouldn’t be the first time either…Canadians don't need guns. The US will defend us against foreign invasion.

When they redrew the ridings a while ago PP had to choose between that one and Carleton since his was being split between both. He opted for Carleton for a reason.Posting here since the election thread isn’t yet open, but maybe it’s time?
CBC reports that Carney will run in the west end Ottawa riding that Chandra Arya help but was not approved to run in again. As a fun coincidence it borders Poilievre’s Carleton riding.
I’ll admit I’d become convinced he was likely to run in Edmonton Centre; it’s a shame he’s not doing that.

When they say gave back to the community do you think they mean getting rid of Indian-Canadian MP Chandra? Casualty of war or was he dirty and needed removing?
We'll be left at suspicion too since the Liberals won't disclose why.I suspect there were other valid reasons to dump Arya, but the optics suck. Likely gonna prove to be an unforced error.
I don’t personally find it concerning - to me it paints a picture of the party identified or learned of some serious concerns and were cleaning house - but I completely understand why some would, even if I doubt it gets a ton of traction. I would have liked to see Carney go for the Edmonton Centre seat, personally. We'll be left at suspicion too since the Liberals won't disclose why.
The optics will ironically be lost on anyone voting Liberal so it's not going to matter much.
No kidding. My first reply on page 1 aged better than expected. No way I could have predicted events from the Freeland face-stabbing onwards though. The final season has really been something.Well, this thread lasted longer than I thought it would.
I won’t speculate why, but whatever the reason, Chandra Arya’s been exceptionally meek about it. One brief “I’ve been informed… disappointing… it’s been an honour to serve.” release, but he hasn’t put up any sort of fight. Not what I would expect from an incumbent MP abruptly and unjustly turfed.

Right?I mean, it's not exactly secret just going by his actions. Take a glance at his Wikipedia page for other tidbits as to why they probably don't want him in the running.

A visible minority who has held that seat for the party since 2015 being bumped for the old white banker guy to attempt to get elected as PM, not coincidentally in the riding next door to PP. I would not be surprised if the constituents turned on him.I suspect there were other valid reasons to dump Arya, but the optics suck. Likely gonna prove to be an unforced error.
I’m gonna take a wait and see approach on this in terms of it there will be any blowback that sticks. This is super obvious stuff and the LPC will have considered these same things.A visible minority who has held that seat for the party since 2015 being bumped for the old white banker guy to attempt to get elected as PM, not coincidentally in the riding next door to PP.
