From what I have been seeing across social media from the Trudeau Zealots is the belief that the foreign interference report due out end of Feb is somehow going to torpedo PP. Is there a chance of that happening or just wishful thinking?

Any chance of some links, @Stoker? I hadn’t seen anything like that. I agree with others that if there was a fire to any such ‘smoke’ that Team Red would have brought it to light in “Look over there!” mode.

To be honest more of the mentions are "friends" of mikethenavyguy on X. Very Anti CPC and PP person. As well I would have to believe that if there was actual willing foreign interference it would of been acted upon. More than likely unwilling I suspect.

Went and had a quick glance at mikethenavyguy profile and some of his post. He is very partisan.

I can’t help but believe there has been some willing/deliberate collaboration and that in due course we will find out about it. I believe this is why the Government went as far as to threaten to take Parliament to court to refuse the production of records related to foreign interference, particularly as it related to at the time (2021) the alleged transfer of Ebola and other pathogens from Canada’s National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg to the Chinese Institute of Virology in Wuhan.

Sadly I must agree with you. Both PT and JT have inflicted huge damage on the Canadian psyche and I can only hope that we don’t see the likes of them again. But let’s not forget that previous prime ministers and their administrations helped begin the decline of Canada decades ago. And it wasn’t just the LPC that caused it. Nevertheless, IMHO Justin seemed to encourage the toppling of many of our most cherished institutions and beliefs, and I will not forget it come election time.

I have to believe, because of how toxic things are in the house and the historical precedence that LPC acts only in its own interests, that if CPC and or PP was in anyways implicated in a meaningful way that would have been public knowledge immediately.

Or I guess they could be hanging on to this nugget for a campaign... But I'm not sure the LPC has that kind of tactical forethought left.

Let’s say for argument sake that PP is in some way implicated. The CPC has signed on to the Reform Act. PP can be replaced, by caucus, in a relative heartbeat.

The Liberals are screwed because they made a bargain with the devil.

I was only a child for the PET years but from what I have read and heard from my parents, aunts, uncles, parole officer, etc. is that PET was not near as destructive all around as JT was. Now, I can't remember where in the blazes I read or heard this, but I was led to believe that Pierre Trudeau had kind of taken a hardened and bitter attitude towards Canadian politics after he departed. I also heard he did not want his children involved with politics. @Edward Campbell any thoughts or reflections on this?

I don’t think he is. But it is possible some close to him are. It’s telling that CSIS felt it urgent enough to brief him partially without a security clearance.

Disagree. The LPC despite their shortcomings have been very effective at staying on and even governing like a majority in a minority situation. They are quite adept at shenanigans. So it would not shock me if they tried that.

The issue is if they are waiting on a bombshell, will it even have an impact at this point. I’m leaning on not.

PET is also sometimes used as President-Elect Trump, so I just spell it out most of the time.
