I'm still not convinced the Trudeau Freeland breakup wasn't just a cheap ploy to get 2 Trudeau favorites into the seat.

Trudeau and the LPC spent 9 years giving billions of tax dollars to friends. It would be ridiculous to suggest Trudeau doesn't continue to wield a lot of power and favor even with some MPs appear to be speaking against him.

I see a lot of back peddling by Carney and Freeland on carbon tax (for those not in the know, Carney was promoting Carbon tax around the world)

Frank Bayliss is probably really the guy who can distance himself from Trudeau (he has been out of politics since 2019), however some questions about his medical supply company booming during COVID. Lets see

Carney is all kinds of unrelatable and full of crap. He has been advising and helping the LPC not just for a few months but years. Voting for him is like voting Trudeau's policies on steroids.

Freeland we know what we are getting. I don't think she has a chance. Its too bad, I think she is more genuine than her child's godfather, Mr Carney.

Gould would make an ok leader of the opposition but she has to really be clear about what she stands for (and not parrot Trudeau's talking points)

My guess is the LPC would disqualify her (after taking her $350k) for not sharing the LPC vision or however it's worded in the registration.

Just listened to this week’s The Line podcast & they’re both underwhelmed. Not the first politician to pick the easy instead of the best option for media. While technically full of knowledge, Carney’s coy run up & odd choices of publicity shows his need to learn the political side - and FAST given the length of the leadership campaign.

Is part of the messaging to convince American consumers, business execs, legislators and governors that tariffs against Canada will hurt American consumers and businesses? Because frankly between now and the election (which conceivably could be back to October again) the most important thing for Canada’s next prime minister is likely going to be managing the trade crisis with America. Showing Canadians and the Liberal Party that that’s his main effort is not necessarily going to disadvantage him.

He launched his campaign in Edmonton. Political aspirants give teasers about stuff all the time.

Turning down a shot at The Daily Show would have been dumb, even if he wasn’t able to formal confirm and commit yet.

On the list of things I give a shot in our domestic politics, the gamesmanship around a campaign launch does not figure. Give me a platform of policy and ideas please, and tell us how you’re going to deal with challenges. The rest is mostly just white noise.
