There is a bit of a legitimate point to be made about an unpopular politician hiding from criticism behind his kids.

If Trudeau was actually worried about his kids encountering angry voters, he would have vacationed elsewhere... He chose a small ski resort in Canada, where he would be found quite easily by the people opposed to him.

However, if he only spent his time outside the country, then the line will be “Trudeau won’t even spend his vacations in Canada - that’s how much he hates this country”. Or something about the costs of ski trips in Europe or the US.

And he picked a small resort, not Banff or Whistler, so he wasn’t exactly looking to be seen.

I half expect he staged the encounter to generate sympathy... "Poor Trudeau, won't the mean Conservatives let him have a ski trip with his kids?"

Followed immediately by:
"You know, I find PP's face "punchable", not that I'd say that normally, because that's encouraging "right wing" extremists to get violent..."

We have an "existential threat" with Trump being elected (and the absolute stupid shit he insulted Trump, not to his face, about Americans failing to vote an unwanted woman as president) and Poilievre, who if elected "will undo all the progress we have made" (What? Adscam? Dental assistance for 2% of Canadians? $400+ million illegitimately awarded STDC? Public Sector employment growth by 40%? The invocation of the Emergency act? The hundreds of millions of dollars for "gender and climate studies" in remote African nations? What Progress?). He should be in a WAR room all through Xmas and into the return of Parliament trying to save his own Prime Minister appointment and his Liberal Party? Where is the sense in this man? He has been governing the nation with his ego and emotions for 9 years and now he has lost so much faith, that even his own party is stabbing him in the back.

Get a clue. I will offer some advice as a father and a former Company Sergeants Major, STOP defending or excusing such deplorable behaviour.

I think there is a strong case for an English CBC, that focuses on markets where there is no business case for private media. CBC relatively recently brought back Compass, the local PEI nightly TV news. It covers things that mater is Islanders, but not necessarily Canadians in general.

CBC’s mandate has not been really updated since its inception (1930’s). It should provide news to underserved communities and be a training ground for journalists and not a mouthpiece for downtown Toronto limousine socialists.

Sure as hell doesn't help when federal government constantly prints money that doesn't exist resulting in insane levels of inflation. Put up the whole truth, all of it.

On your comments about my business, I run an extremely low input farming operation. There is no $50,000-150,000 "Emergency cattle feed" government subsidy available for small farms like myself. That same funding, is only available to cattle farmers that have around minimum 150 head of cattle. That excludes 90-95% of cattle farmers in my immediate area. According to the government that is a "small herd". Now, I am not asking, hell, I don't want a government handout. That is not sustainable, at all. And there are tons and tons of subsidies, grants, etc.

How the fuck do you determine what businesses are sustainable when governments hand out tons of cash to starts ups or keep operating cost so the companies can survive? Like the EV plants that had billions dumped into them or the useless high energy input cricket plant that the government dumped millions of dollars into (it still failed) and worse, its NOT "climate friendly" or any bullshit like that. Thats another rabbit hole, and we can break off for that.

Now, I have a question for you, @IKnowNothing , are you a business owner? Yes or no? If you say no, then I will ignore anymore "operating a sustainable business" comments from you.

You are correct. The government can do many things to enable and let a high functioning growing economy prosper. Printing money that doesn't exist when we are in record levels of debt, doesn't help. Inflation sky high is not help or enabler at all.
