    Where to find para cord?

Its just that I've never seen an IM advisory code which was "Alpha-Alpha" (as in "KM") but rather as "Alpha-Numeric" (1R, 1B, 3B, or what I suspect in this case: 4L) Where is the SSI found? CGCM or the 101? Or, perhaps a remnant of the old system? ;D (PS: sorry for the hijack)

    Where to find para cord?

Hello ArmyVern, Just curious: What does "SSI" and "KM" mean? Never heard of it before. I know IM advisory normally determines if its LPO or Cent. Managed (or others) Cheers, Eric

    Where to find para cord?

DIY Tactical has a nice looking spool of Paracord photographed on their site, but they dont indicate that they sell by the spool, but rather by the yard. (No idea how many yards are in a spool) Foliage Green 550 Cord, Mil-C-5040 $0.21 (US) Foliage Green 550 Cord. Made to Mil spec MIL-C-5040...

Does everyone in CF has head piece to communicate ?

Just out of curiosity, why are you looking for this info? If you get issued a radio for any task during training or combat, you are issued a corresponding headset (if the radio in question has a headset as part of the checklist). The only people who would get issued a headset on an individual...

    BDU Sizes

Like I said: Combats are combats. They're your work Clothes. They're not here to replace your DEU's Dress and Deportment-wise, I agree with you to an extent, although I've never seen anyone look that "sloppy" from combats that are 2 inches too big in the waist. (Just sloppy because they're...

    Wearing Orthotics in Boots

I agree, they should have never sized you with the "stock" insoles inside. I made the mistake on myself when trying on my desert boots, when I had to wrestle with the orthodics to get them in the boots, it occured to me. I would say that wearing insoles and orthodics at the same time may...

    BDU Sizes

LMAO! Yeah, the new sizing system is ok, but its not the "be all and end all" (for most people, everything is just a little too big or a little too small). I think our saving grace is those fancy elastics in the waistband. (and dont feel bad, I had to up a size to 7038 also) I once had a female...

    BDU Sizes

A shiny nickel says you're CADPAT pants are a 7034.  ;) I'm thinking the (US) Med-Long should be fine taking into consideration all the info above.

    BDU Sizes

I started writing a nice long-winded reply based on my speculation and opinion, but I think I'd be steering you wrong since I have very limited experience with the sizing system in question. (IIRC, the Canadian supply system used this sizing system in the older of the OD green combats, as well...

Keeping skills up on my own time

I'm on gravyboat's side.... I purchased a Ruger 10/22 about two months before I headed out on pre-deployment in Edmonton.... (TF 1-08), I've shot about 1500-2000 rounds out of it, plinking, shooting in the standing, kneeling, sitting, as well as prone. I noticed a difference when I hit the...

    All Things Socks (merged)

Sorry, my mistake, it is the Combat Sock System..... I erroneously refferred to it as the "Goretex Sock System" because when the Combat Sock System was developped, it was designed for the Wet Weather Boot and Temperate Combat Boot. (According to the Fact Sheet...

    All Things Socks (merged)

Good Day Sockguy, I'll answer a couple questions which so far have remained relatively untouched. Socks cannot be purchased through the military as the supply system has eliminated cash sales. The only exception is selected socks produced by Logistik Unicorp which make up part of a Member's...

    POST YOUR FAVORITE RIFLE HERE

Well Alfie, I believe I found your answer pertaining to deactivated weapons: Quote from CFC Website (URL #1 below) In order for the firearm to be considered deactivated by the Canada Firearms Centre, the firearm must first be confirmed by a gunsmith, to no longer be considered a firearm as per...

    Vehicle Tech work boots

bily052: Just wondering.... being a Lineman, What do you think of the old model of issued Lineman boots vs. the new model of issued Lineman boot? (I believe they were both made by Royer) What make and model did you end up going with from Ottawa Safety? (I know they dont have the greatest...

    American "Land Warrior" Project

Looks like it may see service yet..... Exerpt from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_Warrior The SI (Stryker Interoperable) version of the system completed US Army testing as of November 2004. Due to limited resources, and issues with the overall weight of the system, Land Warrior...

    Vehicle Tech work boots

I'm a Supply Tech, and when working in the warehouse, we have to wear safety boots (supposed to anyways....) What not to do - No excuse BMQ tips [Merged]

Hi All, I did my reg. BMQ (10 weeks) at the Mega in St Jean almost 4 years ago. As many others have posted in this thread, its all just a game. No matter if you are the most crack "on the ball" troop, you're getting jacked up for at least the first 8 weeks. Thats all there is to it. Its all...

    Online "Kit" Websites

MikeL: I've tried to order from Ranger Joe's before, It didnt work out so well. In my experience, they were not very accomodating, and on top of that, they would not take Canadian issued credit cards. (and I'm not into mailing in cheques and waiting months for an order) I know this link is...
