Trump administration 2024-2028

It's great if people change their minds to get on-side with something worth doing.

If they were basically against something until the point at which it started costing them, f*ck 'em if they're having a rough time. They should have been thinking of people other than themselves beforehand.

Then he is free to try to amend the Constitution by whatever means are required. If there is to be any respect or legitimacy for a nation's foundational law, you can't have it subject to one person's opinion, regardless of who that person is. If what he has done is considered legitimate, then any part of the Constitution or any of their law are subject to his personal fiat.

The 14th Amendment was passed after the US Civil War to, in part, grant citizenship to former slaves. Adoption was a requirement for a State to re-join the Union. I wonder if it would be considered okay for him to sign away that part too.

It is within his authority to direct his DOJ to take a case involving a person he defines in the Order and move it through the courts.
Why would he need an amendment when it already reads what he says? If others have problems with that they can submit an amendment. He didn't sign away anything, he reinforced it. In know, all interpretation. Prior governments interpreted it one way, the current another. Like always people can request amendment to clarify or challenge in court. Personally I think amendment would be best as the court today may not be the same one 10 years down the road.

Maybe we will end up thanking Trump.

The problem is that, over the last decade, Liberal policies have caused much frustration among Canadians. On the other side, firmly entrenched and channelling 10,000 gigawatts of public resentment, is Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre.

You might call it a conflict between two philosophies: “get outta the way” versus “yes, of course, but …”

Canada’s next prime minister should waste no time changing the direction of the country’s energy future. Rather than discriminate against efficient and cheaper energy sources, like natural gas, in favour of more costly sources, the Canadian government needs to take an agnostic approach.

....

And Premiers getting serious about interprovincial trade barriers?

....

Smith picking up allies.

Man he's thin-skinned.

"She brought her church into the World of politics in a very ungracious way"

This would be the guy who rolled up in front of a church - the same church if I recall - stood for a photo op with a bible in his hand, then left.

He's a Christian of convenience so long as it plays to his base.
And IIRC held the Bible upside down.
