Ok, just a question, as I honestly don't know?  What happens in the summer, in terms of operations & taskings for reservists, during the summer, when some are training in Wainwright, units at stood down for the summer....

Do taskings & operations get passed down the chain of command, before September?

I can't speak for Air and Army reserves, but for Navy Reserves, the complete unit is not stood down.  There is still a day staff on, working in Ship's Office as well as one or two in the training office.  Yes, there aren't any parade or training nights, but if any taskings come up, there are still people around for it to be passed onto.  They will then get ahold of any members who are available for the summer.  As well, many of the departmental supervisors are still in local area, as most are working at their civilian jobs.  If you are available for odd jobs and taskings for the summer, make sure that your supervisor knows this.  If you're not able to get ahold of them, call into your unit's BOR and ask what the procedure is.

Same with our unit, we have day staff, but wasn't sure how fast & how much happens over the summer months, especially with overseas taskings, decisions on next deployments, all that?

The day staff are there all day, every day (although most likely minimally manned due to leave).  Therefore, decisions should still be able to be made with efficiency.  It will all be dependent on the unit itself, as well as what the tasking is (i.e. where, when, prerequisites etc.).  Like I said earlier, make sure that your unit knows when you are available for, and also ensure that your contact number is current.

We are parading all summer there a few taskings or courses for the few of us that are not in Astan.
