So today was my son's first day of school. Boys I feel old! He came to me before he went out, gave me a salute and marched out the door. Ha ha ha. Look out grade Primary, he comes TN2IC's clone.

Hope my little girl don't grow up. She will be 2 in October.  :-\

Today is the second day of my last year of high school.  I like my classes.

Today was my second day at confed flight college, my first lift is tomorrow morning assuming it doesn't thunder storm.

I'll give a dollar to anyone who goes to school for me tomorrow?
I don't want summer to end  >:(
But on the plus side if the farmers almanac is right this year, I'll have plenty of days in the winter to go snow-shoeing and ice fishing.

Okay, I'll take you on. But you have to get me up there, at only a dollar. So, I guess I'm out of the picture. But at least winter will bring fun  ;D

We sold it last year, sorry  ;)

TN2IC,

I hope your son enjoys his first year... when I can think back to when my daughter started Kindergarten... feels like yesterday. She just started 2nd grade, and so far we made it through week 1! I'm back in class myself, so I'm sure the time between now, and her Christmas break, is going to go even faster.

Good Luck with your last year MB :)

The happiest day of my life came the day after labor day last year when I realized I didn't have to go to class anymore....but then about a minute later I came to the sudden realization that I was late for work.  :P

I got my course list on Thursday... I liked it, but, there was something that gave me an uneasy feeling, so I went to the staff to have a credit check. Well, lo and behold they didn't plan on graduating me this year for some reason or other. They didn't give me the classes i needed to graduate (I needed 2 technoloy credits, they only gave me 1 tech class this year even though I signed for 2 and apparently the keyboarding class I took in grade 10 stopped counting as a tech credit when I was in grade 11). So I wasn't too happy with them for that because they took me out of Visual Arts 12, a class I've been working at for 2 years. I'm still going to my art class and the art teacher told me he would see if I could take the other tech cousre on my own time in the art studio during my frees.
Well, I'm just not overly pleased with the way they place us in classes... especially when we sign up for ones mandatory to graduate and don't get in. If I hadn't gotten that uneasy feeling and gotten a credit check they wouldn't have told me until there was two weeks left at the end of the year that I didn't have required credits needed. I know that at this age we are old enough to make sure we have what we need, and I did check, but there are always going to be those who aren't as observant and aren't sure which credits are required, and will have the rude awakening in June when they are informed they can't graduate. This has happened to more than a few every year, and I can't see why the school staff and counsellors can't check to make sure they put students into classes that are mandatory... especially when it is supposed to be their last year.
[/rant]

Our counselor sat down with us at the beginning middle and end of the year for the soul purpose of making sure we were taking the courses, and had the credits required to graduate. Seemed like babysitting but I'm positive if he had not there would have been one or two students that didn't pay attention during registration and wouldn't have graduated. Uncle-Midget-Boyd did you get everything sorted out?

I was talking with my art teacher last class on friday and went to speak with the Data Processing teacher, but he was in the middle of a lecture type thing, so I decided it would be best to wait until monday. As it is the only way I can take both Art and Data is to have 2 classes in the same timeframe, so I'm going to see if my name can be switched from one Art class to a different one, but I still go to mine and have my marks transferred to it. That way I can take Art, but I would have to take Data Processing individually on my time which is why I need to talk to that class's teacher on monday.

UMB, just reading about your dilemma makes me glad I'm no longer in high school..... ;D

I drove him to school today. God, I feel old. But wow, some of those teachers are hot looking.  ;D

Time for my prune juice.

Yeahhhh... I especially like the fact that now, a lot of the substitute teachers are only four or five years older than us in Gr12, instead of having three lifetimes in between.  ;D
