Hamas invaded Israel 2023

Still no evidence of starvation and famine, but there are plenty of videos of dudes with fresh hair fades and fully charged iphone 15s. Also plenty of vehicles mulling about, guess they have plenty of fuel too.
Hamas is even complaining there's so much aid being provided, they've had to lower their prices on the stolen food they sell to Gazans.

The White House just posted the general details of the ceasefire deal that Biden just announced (image below). It seems like the same one that Hamas accepted a few weeks ago and Israel rejected.

Interesting to see that it doesn't mention anything about Hamas surrendering or who will be ruling Gaza after the war (unless its mentioned elsewhere). This totally goes against what Netanyahu's war objectives (ie. Remove Hamas from power).

Will see what happens now, either way, this mass killing new to stop.

POTUS can say what he wants - it doesn't make the Israelis bound to accept it.

Imagine the Knesset trying to tell the US to stop attacking Afghanistan after 9/11...

I'll listen to the head of the World Food Program

I bet.

How Corrupt Is the World Food Program?

It’s been a month since the leaking of a scathing evaluation of WFP’s Somalian relief program written by the UN Monitoring Group on Somalia. The body, created by the UN Security Council, alleges that three Somali businessmen who held about $160 million in WFP transport contracts were involved in arms trading while diverting the agency’s food aid away from the hungry. A New York Times report also claimed food was being siphoned off by radical Islamic militants and local UN workers.

EU temporarily holds back food aid in Somalia after UN finds widespread theft

The European Union executive has temporarily suspended funding for the World Food Programme (WFP) in Somalia, two senior EU officials told Reuters on Monday, after a U.N. investigation found widespread theft and misuse of aid meant to avert famine.
The European Commission gave more than $7 million in aid to the WFP's operations in Somalia last year, a fraction of the donations of more than $1 billion it received, U.N. data shows.

U.S. will resume food aid to millions in Ethiopia after monthslong pause over massive corruption

The lead U.S. development agency plans to restart food aid deliveries for millions of people across Ethiopia in December, five months after it took the extraordinary step of halting its nationwide program over a massive corruption scheme by local officials.

I respectfully find your analogy with 9/11 and Israel to be to be flawed. Israel doesn't provide billions of financial and military support to the US nor does it have UN Veto power to keep giving the US political coverage (which the US provides to Israel almost blindly).

The leverage each side has on the other is not comparable, at least in my opinion.

Also, historically, the US has exerted its leverage on Israel to stop it at certain points. Interestingly they were mostly republican US presidents. Biden seems too scared of Netanyahu (eg. Reagan with Menachin Begin with Israel's invasion of Lebanon. George H.W. Bush allowed 9 UN resolutions, including 1 that criticized Israel for deporting Palestinians, while George W. Bush allowed six more, including one that called on Israel to stop demolishing the houses of Palestinian civilians).

It sure costs a lot to trade for the release of innocents (hostages and remains). Undoubtedly this continuation of a long tradition of lopsided "tradesies" to the disadvantage of whatever side happens to be approximately "western" will be the one which discourages malcontents from grabbing hostages in future.
Israel is racist. They think one Jew prisoner is worth 50 Arabs! The audacity.

I doubt Israel is going to let anyone come within 100yards of the border wall for decades to come. Can you load a Phalanx with rubber bullets?

Rubber bullets are a misnomer.

For small arms it is a steel inner with a polymer/nylon coating - while theoretically less lethal than normal ammo, it’s still deadly

Rubber and Wood have been used in low velocity systems like 37mm and 40mm launchers.

Not aware of any 20mm ‘less lethal’.

“Less lethal” as in “97% chance of killing you, not 98%”
