2025 Federal Election - 28 Apr 25

Not unless you want a PSAC riot. LPC would never bite the PS union hand that feeds. Why else would they grow it by 40 or 50% in 10 years while making wait times worse?

I think the first step is delinking any connection CAF members have to being part of the PS.

I love how 9.5 years of Trudeau, his cohort, and their policies can be flushed down the toilet with such ease. It is truly a miracle of the hold the LPC has on this country.

Cripes even Gerry Butts has been resurrected from purgatory. "All is forgiven Ger, you have a clean slate to do what you do so well".

Butts works at Eurasia Group along with Carney’s wife.

"A successful leader in politics as well as public policy, Gerald designed the strategies for the Liberal Party's 2015 and 2019 national election campaigns, as well as Trudeau's bid to win the party's leadership in 2013. The 2015 campaign, widely recognized as one of Canada's most innovative and successful, allowed the Liberal Party to move from third place in parliament to forming a majority government. Its gain of 148 new seats was the largest in Canadian history.

In addition to his work with Eurasia Group, Gerald leads New Climate Group, a private consultancy that advises global financial firms, educational institutions, and philanthropists on strategic investments in climate mitigation and resilience, and artificial intelligence. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from McGill University."

And that explains why Gerald Butts was photographed at Carney's swearing in ceremony...

The new guy isn't all that different from the old guy folks. Even keeps the same company...

...

And I think we should ALL write our own hype pieces, or pay someone who is great at writing sophisticated sounding hype pieces!

What a bunch of fluffy nonsense in that description of Mr. Butts!

At least God has a sense of humor & gave him the last name Butts. (Suits him because he's an ass! Incase that was lost on anybody)

P.S. the 'New Climate Group' sounds like a shill organization used to minimize & avoid paying as much tax as possible. I'd love to see how busy they actually are on a day to day basis...

PP saying he will be keeping Pharmacare and Dental Care programs.

I’m sure that will upset a few people that were against those programs.

From a macro economic perspective these are good.

Why is Butts an ass? I see him disparaged a lot.

As did Harper not to renege on his deal with Mackay, and so too did CPC members when they chose their new leader in 2022.
I think if O’Toole or MacKay had won leadership of the CPC, Carney would never have bothered throwing his hat in the ring and the LPC would be headed for a blowout.

Huh. That’s not a base-friendly decision at all. He clearly sees some vulnerability if he’s painted as being set to walk those back. This may bleed a bit of support to PPC types who look in and see a ‘uniparty’.

Butts is seen by some as being behind a lot of PMO-led machinations. I’ve never been arsed to look to closely at it though.

Am I the only one who sees the absolute hypocrisy that is the Liberal Party of Canada. It's truly breathtaking that they can change their spots with such ease and without paying a price.

welcome to politics

Welcome to Canada, where Canadians, if the polls hold true, elect the same government over and over while expecting a different result....

The Liberals move to the right and the CPC move to the left in response to shore up/steal that middle?

Seems like thats the Butts/PMO job description?
