Godd morning to you all.
I am researching the life of an uncle who emmigratd to Canada from UK around 1908-12.
He joined the 29th. Vancouver Infantry Battalion B.C. on 14 Nov. 1914 and on his Attestation Papers is written that his previous military experience was 2 years with the 72. Highlanders of Vancouver (72nd. Battalion Seaforth Highlanders of Canada).
I have kindly been given quite a lot of information aboutht e 72nd., but what I really would like to know is about my uncle‘s connection with the Battalion.
He was Reginald George Woods, b. 1893 in Brighton, Sussex. His Army number with the 29th. was as a private: 76088. He did not marry, and embarked with the 29th. as part of the C.E.F. on the ‘Missanabi‘ in May 1915. He died in1917.
I am hoping that any records about his time with the 72nd. might help me to find out where he had been living (presumably in B.C.) and perhaps eventually when he arrived in Canada.
Any information wuld be very much appreciated.
