All Corps of the Canadian Land Force Command belong to one of three arms: The Combat Arms, the Combat Support Arms, or the Service Support Arms. The following Corps/Branches are of the Combat Arms:

Historical

Before 1940, The Cavalry was also considered one of the Combat Arms; mechanization begun in the 1930s and completed in the first year of the Second World War led to the replacement of the Cavalry with Armour.

From 1936 to 1940, tanks were considered a branch of the Infantry.

From 1916 to 1936 The Canadian Machine Gun Corps was also considered a separate Combat Arm distinct from both the Artillery and the Infantry. In 1936 the CMGC had its units integrated into the Infantry.
