It's been a few years Jamie. I'm trying to get ahold of Sid. He'd be the fella that would know the Gunners from your Dad's time. Wish I had held onto a nominal roll when I left. My apologies those names aren't ringing a bell. I'm also trying to get ahold of a former Gnr. bud who was with the Bty on closing and stayed back for move of the Bde. down to Lahr.

Gonna try to upgrade my fitness and get a second opinion from a doctor to see if I have ITP instead of just thrombocytopenia and if it's disqualifying or not, eventually...
Hello,

This is the worst way to communicate because it doesn't really send notifications anywhere. If you'd like to talk more, I can be found on Facebook, or at laneshymko@hotmail.com. I'd be interested in knowing what other information you have.

Cheers
Still around. Cannot believe how long since I posted last. 7 great grandchildren since that posting. Some health problems related to service. Which VAC has been out standing in their help.
Hi, my name is Sarah Jensen, John was my great grandfather. He was married to my great grandmother Helen Jenkins. I do have some information, stories etc if you’d like to connect :) I’ve been trying to find family on the shymko side for a long time now.

I had something written but it was too big to post here. I'm availble on facebook and at Laneshymko@hotmail.com if you want to discuss further
I have a contact that might be able to help you. They do PLARs for health services (prior learning assessment report) and recruiting for reserves. They may be able to answer whether or not your 2 year course would be acceptable. Try reaching out to Lt(N) Hanson at laen.Hanson@forces.gc.ca. Good luck!

Thank you so much. I honestly really appreciate this. I will reach out to Lt(N) Hanson. im out side of the town for next few months . And I don’t want to transfer my file to Toronto while I’m here because in Toronto it’s horrible delays for everything due to very busy location. I will try to see if this person gives me any directions . Tysm .
hi, great to have seen u got into the army at your age, i'm at your age as well, i just wonder if you have joined the reserved army or full time? any particular position that you haev applied for or interested in? also, Air force, Navy and Army, which have you joined? as i'm interetsed in air force, do u think it would be too low of a chance to be accepted?
Looking for Veterans who served in Germany with Martin P McMahon or elsewhere.2 PPCLI 63\64, 1 PPCLI 65\66\Germany. 3 PPCLI 72\73. MP 74\78 Esquimalt & Calgary. 79\80 Borden
Hi Sir, I am hoping you might be able to help me locate members who served in Lahr Germany in the 60s either as a CAF MP or PPCLI. My Dad who speaks fondly of those days is terminally ill so I am hoping some are still alive that may remember a Martin P McMahon. Do U know any sites that will offer in a timely manner. Ty in advance.

The best suggestion I could make would be to post on the forum. There may be someone who either served in Lahr during that time or who may have other suggestions. My time in Germany was much later than your father's.
