Wear uniform when clearing out for release

Please forgive my ignorance, but what exactly are you referring to when you say "clearing out"?

Leaving the military.  Clear your Identity, from the books of active service, as you moving "out" of activity

When you go to your final release appointment, dress is appropriate civilian attire. 

After all, when you turn in your ID card, you are no longer entitled to wear a uniform, correct?

I turned in my uniforms about ten days before my final release appointment.  No problems with doing my last few appointments (pay office, and so on) in civilians.

Jeans and T-shirts not recommended, though.......
