ARLINGTON, Va. — The Army is putting more re-enlistment cash on the line for an elite group of senior noncommissioned officers who offer the Army’s most sought-after skills.

The new Critical Skills Retention Bonuses posted by the Army this week includes 17 eligible specialties, including Special Forces soldiers in all categories who can take what equals the Army’s biggest bonus ever: $150,000 if they sign up to re-enlist for six more years.

If the senior NCO re-enlists in theater most of it should be tax free. :)
The $150,000 bonus is available to SF E7-9 if they re-enlist for 72 months. They must also have 19-23 years of service. For 60 months they can get $75,000. For 48 months the bonus is $50,000,36 months - 30,000 and 18,000 for 24 months.

The bonus' are also available for HUMINT collectors a max of $100,000,cryptologist linguist 100,000 in grades of E-6 and 7, also E-6 and E-7's in the EOD MOS can get $100,000 for 72 months


 
Good for them for realizing the value of those troops. The knowledge they can pass on more than justify the cost of keeping them.
 
The nice aspect of these bonus' are that they are paid as a lump sum. :)
