I'll always remember getting the train home and rushing to my local to sink lots of ale. In the 80's last orders was at 10:30 pm so I used to walk in the bar at 9pm and order 5 pints of guiness. Of course they were destroyed by 11pm but I was thirsty and that was my way of quenching it.
I always enjoyed going home on leave. I was single then and had no comitments. I used to have a girlfriend at home and away until one of them bit my neck and the other one sussed it. Yes I know a chargeable offence but my other girlfriend never forgave me.
You can't win, but at that time, before I was married, the chics were plentifull. The good old days I guess!! 8) :
