The oldest community in Alberta, Fort Vermilion, laid to rest its last WW2 Veteran.
I was honored to have shaken his hand and thank him personally.

My family lives in Fort Vermilion actually. Was he laid to rest there?

Yes he was. He died 22/01/06 and the funeral, one of the largest this community has seen, was 25/01/06.
