Hello,
I am looking for stories, anecdotes, etc for two great uncles. The first is Cpl John Shymko who served with the South Saskatchewan Regiment at Dieppe and latter with the First Canadian Parachute Battalion. He jumped with them into Normandy and was latter captured and spent the rest of the war as such. He died in 1999.
The second is WO1 Edward Shymko. Served in the RCAF and CF from 1955-1980. Did one tour in Cypress in the late fifties and a four year stint in Germany. Was three years a radar technician and the remainder an MP. Time in Clinton, Comox and whale river(?) any stories, info welcome

John shymko is my biological great grandfather he was married to my mothers grandmother Helen Jenkins :) I have information if your still looking :)
