Anyways I was browsing Reddit and came across a post where a photo of a sea cadet and his family. It was found in Vancouver B.C. The poster would like to return the photo.

I posted here rather than in the cadet forums because this board seems to have more traffic.

Here is a link to the post and photo. I'm not familiar with the badge and it is harder to see the ship name on his hat.

Because Vancouver is a large place they may not necessarily from Vancouver.

HMCS Victoria maybe... because of the "V" design that is visible, however many sea cadet units are named after geographical regions or unit investors rather than actual ships.,

In the Vancouver area, for example, you have:

47 Captain Vancouver
102 Fraser
169 Columbia
195 Bicknell
307 Mariner
105 Lonsdale
349 Chilliwack
254 Invincible

I commented on the Reddit site to ask the poster to put up a higher resolution scan.  Without being able to read the cap tally or see the corps crest, identification will be difficult.

Got it!

The diamond/triangular design of the Ship Crest on the jacket is that of #349 RCSCC Chilliwack

Edit: Change photo to attachment/thumbnail.

Yup, and the cap tally could certainly say Chilliwack, but you'd never decipher it if you didn't know what it was.

Poster could call/email the CO and I'm sure the cadet would be easy to identify.

I can get you the contact email for the CO if anyone is interested.

cheers,
