Greetings as this is my first post. I will be heading to Europe on vacation on 30 October. I will be staying in Vimy, France, on the 11th of November and I was wondering if there will be anybody there at the memorial to remember the fallen with me, or if there is even a ceremony there at all. Civvies, military etc.?

A friend and I are actually planning on spending the day at the service at Menin and then attending Vimy on the 12th. If its your first trip it will be an absolutely power experience.

Here is the VAC information page for the Vimy Memorial.

Take a few minutes to look it over and see if any events are scheduled, however it may not be clear.  Otherwise, the best advice is to contact them either by e-mail or phone (their French local phone number is there) and ask what will be the protocol for that particular day.

My wife and I went to this concert in Mississauga last night and enjoyed it,

Maestro Mastromonaco mentioned that an uncle of his serving in the Italian Army was captured by the Red Army and not released until the 1950s!

I'll take advantage of this thread's title to post a general comment about the day's happenings despite the specific question in the OP.

I came across this video after following a link in another thread.

Do you think these guys could benefit from a bit more drill practice?  Look, my Johnnie is the only one in step.

Let me preface my comment by first thanking my local Legion branch for their fortitude in organizing our Remembrance Day service every year in the face of varying levels of competence in the participants.
Your video is a perfect example of the sight I observe at my local service every year.
