True, but I'm not sure many people in their 20s are doing that level of planning. 'Hoping for the best but planning for the worst' doesn't seem too prevalent in human nature certainly among young people. Besides, unless it is done because of an existing medical condition i don't think it is a covered procedure (at least in Ontario), so $$.

off to google how much it costs to freeze ones eggs. But yeah one of the problems with the fertility issue is people finding out too late

I was 35 and 37 when my sons were born. My wife was 33 and 35. In the 50s and 60s we would have been labelled dinosaurs. My father was 31 and my mother was 30 in the early 70s when I was born, that was considered late. My Grandfather had his 8 kids between ages 26-40. There is definitely a change in cultural "norms" of having children in the western civilizations.
Now the Mennonites that live in my area (LOTS!) you could could win bets that the women have several children going by age 21. However thats a unique culture within our culture.

Nobody can accuse our family of rushing into things. My parents were late 20s when my brother came along in the late 1940s and in their early 30s when I arrived. A good farm boy from Simcoe Cty but I suppose a Depression, a bout of TB and WWII will do that to plans.

but women can remove almost all their fertility concerns on their side by using their younger eggs that they have harvested earlier leaving only the how of finding the sperm necessary. Removing the old eggs removes a large part of the failure rate of IVF

That's good news.

On the other hand, hopefully young women will continue to fall in love and marry young men they like and respect, while they still have time to make babies the traditional way. I think that is true happiness.

My mother had me when she was 21, so I'm thankful she's still in good health and get to spend time with her.
