Anybody know where to acquire a patrol sling for the C7?  Is this something you can buy at a surplus store?  I've also heard of some people making a patrol sling using para cord and the original sling it comes with.  Can anybody describe how to do this?

How would the wheelers/CP one fit onto a fixed stock C7?

Also, are the issued patrol slings w/ paracord made anywhere else?  I can't seem to find them anywhere (the types w/ the paracord loop at front and back).

Its not paracord.

I bought the CF Issue C7 patrol/3 point sling at Supply Sgt(Surplus store in Edmonton), its alright, I'd prefer it to have a fastex quick release instead of the button though.

I ordered a Eagle Industries 3 point sling, awhile ago, should be arriving pretty soon. Looks like it'll be pretty good, plus I've seen a lot of troops in Iraq with this sling, I'm thinking thats a pretty good sign that its good.

making a patrol sling with para cord is simple
1.remove issue sling
2.tie para cord end to rear sling swivel
3. run para cord up the side of stock over the top down other side tie to swivel
4.attache front of sling to front sight
5.run sling under para cord and buckle as normal
6.use some gun tape to reinforce para cord knots and keep sling from sliding around

I'm using Specter Gear's 'Special Operations Patrol Sling'.

I love the thing and would strongly recommend it if you're looking for a 3-point 'patrol' sling.

Here is one appearing on eBay for approx. 20$

If you don't have an ebay account, just email the guy an buy it that way, thats how I've bought all my stuff off him.

"Patrol sling"s an oxymoron as when you are on patrol the weapon is in your hands ready to be brought into action quickly. A sling of any sorts on most patrols just gets in the way and gets caught up on branches and such.
Sorry could not resist digging at the name. Cheers!

Nawk,

I would suspect that almost every gun shop and surplus store in the country should have the style of  sling you're looking for.

I know here in Edmonton all the kitshops have them as well as most gun shops, tactical shops and surplus stores.

Kind Regards

Ditto.

Let me know if I can be of service.

I carry Blue Force Gear, Tactical Assault Gear and Tactical Intervention slings.

A big thumbs up for Mike Miller's Tactical Intervention Quik Cuff sling - I have had one since 98 - and he sold the CF a bunch (EAST) it is the ideal sniper sling setup.

Also same for Col. Ashley Southern's BlueForce Gear SOC-C sling and contractor pack.
