Military Parade and Ceremony to Pay Tribute to Canada's Veterans

SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU (Québec) â “ More than 1,000 soldiers, sailors and air men and women will take part in a parade on Sunday, September 25 to commemorate the Year of the Veteran. This event, one of the largest in Canada, will be held at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School (CFLRS), Garrison St-Jean, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec.

The parade will depart from Garrison St-Jean at 12:45 p.m. and will march through the streets of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu to arrive at Campus Fort Saint-Jean at 1:45 p.m. Visitors can take part in a variety of activities and view a static display of pre-Second World War war and modern military vehicles. Brig.-Gen. Christian Barabé, commander of Land Forces Québec Area, will preside over the ceremony.

Media representatives are invited to attend the event and meet with veterans and with Brig.-Gen. Barabé as well as Lt.-Col Christian Mercier, Commander of CFLRS.
