From what I am hearing he was a temporary pick who had the security clearance needed, but he will not be staying in the roll. Not the best pick though

Something tells me he's not leaving with much

With all the media speculation that Carney will appoint a smaller war-type cabinet, possibly with some outsiders/non-MPs, I wonder who will be MND?
A safe and decent choice would be to put Anita Anand back it place. This is purely speculative on my part, but for a more radical choice maybe Carney could convince Andrew Leslie to come back to politics as MND with the understanding that if they are re-elected he’ll be given the budget to get to 2% as soon as possible and the freedom to restructure/reform the CAF as he sees fit?

Depends who runs in the next election, we have a ton of open liberal spots. Even Chris Hadfield has been sounding a little political lately on social media, he would be an interesting candidate.
I hope he keeps David McGinty. He’s one of the best members on the Liberal bench in terms of national security knowledge by virtue of his chairmanship of NSICOP.
I’m sure that if Chrétien had a job that required meeting the current President of the United States he would give him a nice heart-felt Shawinigan handshake.
I wonder why Trudeau never gave Leslie the Defence portfolio or any portfolio for that matter. Any scuttle but on their relationship?

There was a lot of really very talented people in the Liberal caucus when they formed the Government .
What always amazed me was how the government almost went out their way to ignore them . There were at least 3 or 4 who really would have made really great cabinet members.
In the case Leslie I would really love to know what happened.
