John Michael Montgomery Song: Letters from Home

New to forum so not sure if this topic has been raised.  What do you think of the song Letters from Home? Despite it being an obvious American point of view, I love it.  Very few songs grab me by the throat like that!! I think Montgomery nailed it with just how important word from home really is.  Those of us who've done tours all know how everyone looks forward to mail call, and how much b***hing goes on when the mail run is late.Well just my two cents worth. I know the song inspired a huge letter drive in Edmonton sponsored by CISN FM to collect letters from kids for every Cdn soldier currently deployed.  They reached that goal and then some!!!
