As far as I know, TCCCS (the acronym) is the name of the project and Iris (the proper noun) is the name of the communication system itself. Iris, in Greek mythology is "the goddess of the rainbow and messenger of the gods."
The capitalization of Iris (i.e. "Iris" or "IRIS") varies between DND publications, which is why I thought IRIS was another acronym too. However, I would trust the manufacturer‘s reference to the system, "Iris", as being correct.
