Ret. Lt.-Gen. Michael Day sat down with Embassy for an interview Jan. 14. He retired in September 2015 from a more than 30-year career in the Canadian Armed Forces, having served as the commanding officer of JTF2, Commander Canadian Special Forces Operations Command and Chief Strategic Planner for Force Development. He also led the NATO training mission in Afghanistan.

I think his comments on the Canada Defence First Strategy are very true and I hope the current government read them.
 
Good points on everything.

The only one I hesiatte to agree with is the new procurement agency concept.  While I think it looks good on paper, if the SSC model is any indication of how bunged up things can get, I shudder to think of what a a procurement agency might look like in reality.
