November 26, 2007 The First Round Battalion fires the HIMARS, which mounts on the Army's five-ton truck chassis and carries a pod of six rockets instead of two pods like the Multiple Launch Rocket System.

Isn't another advantage of the HIMARS over the MLRS being that the former is airdroppable with airborne troops? Correct me if I'm wrong.

HIMARS was used on Op Medusa firing from KAF into Panjwai.
I didn't see the launch, but certainly saw the impacts...
 
I really like the HIMARS capability and think it would be ideal for Australia/Canada.
