Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know I have my CFAT on Thursday at 9:15am at the CFRC Ottawa.
Not that anyone cares  :p, but I took the test last November and bombed the math part of it.
I really wish I had found this site before Nov. because of all the usefull information I have come across. Everyone on here is great.
I haven't posted much, spending most of my time on here soaking up as much stuff as I can.
I actually booked a week off work to come and stay at a family members house who is really good at math. I spend all day, everyday just eating, studying (division, fractions, verbal, spatial ability...) 6 hours each day and doing PT and getting into a solid schedule.
When the career counsellor told me I had passed, but not enough for my trade, it felt like a military boot kick in the balls. The worst feeling in the world.
Family members and friends keep saying, "Don't worry if you don't pass again, you'll find something else to do."
They don't understand.
This is the only thing I want to do. Being Canadian is so much more then paying your taxes on time, being a good citizen and having everything handed to you.
Anyways, just wanted to say thanks to all of you and I really look forward to joining the ranks.
Cheers,
    Chaz

Good for you for hanging in there! Congratulations and good luck on the rest of your application process and bmq.

Good luck!!  Just remember - when you get there and it's time to take the test, stay calm.  Getting overly stressed isn't going to help matters any.

Yeah, I remember that from last time. When I got in there I got really stressed out. That, and the fact that it was probably between 30-40 degrees in there in Novemember.
And I know it wasn't just me cause everyone in there was sweating.

Hi
Good luck to you man, i know it is hard but don't worry you will ace the test this time.

cheers

Well, ladies and gents...
I passed. I did much better than last time.Thank god. Then I went on to pass both parts of the medical and have scheduled my interview for August 14th at 9:30am.
Once again, a heart filled thanks to all of the information provided to me directly and indirectly from all of you here.
For anyone reading this who is about to take the CFAT, remember, don't rely on luck. Work for it. Make your own luck.
:salute:

Congratulations.  I'm sure that because you worked for it, it feels just that much sweeter to have passed.  Good luck on the rest.

Congratulations!  :)

To the thread starter, best of luck with it all!  :cdn:

Well, I had my interview this morning at 0930.
The Captain was a nice guy and he went down his line of questions.(also really nice and funny people at CFRC Ottawa)
Lasted about 30 minutes and at then end he told me I was sufficient for 031 and asked me if I had a preference of where I wanted to go.
I told him RCR 1st or 3rd battalion.
So now, finally, all I have left is my fitness test at the Y, yet to get a date

Cheers,
      Chaz  :cdn:
