Windsor is asking the Trudeau government for "more than we are able to give right now".

Huh. I can see the call to reimburse everything they promised.

Not so much the call to divvy up policing costs with the feds in a general sense. Ottawa isn’t a great comparison due to all the federal and diplomatic presence that attracts RCMP protective policing presence. Even at that, RCMP do protective work, but they aren’t doing normal first response policing in Ottawa save for rare cases where a marked car might get waved down or encounter something they’re professionally obligated to act on for public safety. So, I’m not sure what Windsor’s claim for routinely dividing policing costs is based on. Sounds like a Queens Park problem.

I suspect their comparison to Ottawa argument is the stipend Ottawa gets for the additional costs incurred because of the presence of the federal government (protests, parades, escorts, traffic control, etc.) I don't know if it is just limited to policing costs. Windsor probably wants to make the case that the presence of the international crossings adds to their operational costs.

I suspect the federal government recognizes that their impact in Ottawa outweighs their grants-in-lieu-of-taxes payments. Windsor (et al) might have difficult making the same argument outside extraordinary events.

Guilty of mischief and not guilty of intimidation.

Was facing up to 10 years in jail but I suspect he won’t see jail time given his pr trial detention.
Guilty of mischief, counselling mischief, counselling obstruction, and disobey court order x2.

His prominent leadership role and the counselling of others to offend will count against him at sentencing, as well as his complete disavowal of any responsibility, up to and including this morning before court.

I think he has six months of pre-custody time, presumably credited at 1.5x. No idea what his global sentencing will look like. I expect sentencing will be in a couple months with submissions from crown and defence due in a few weeks. My guess is he’ll remain out on bail in the interim.

The court’s findings on the impacts of the larger overall occupation of downtown Ottawa may prove helpful to the plaintiffs in the convoy civil lawsuit.
