Ferret Markings

I‘m in the process of restoring a Canadian Mk 1 Ferret, but having trouble finding information on unit and formation markings.On stripping old paint found Car No. 54-83534, no other markings were found (did not have the front wingsto check) all paint layers were od green.Repainted a close match to original color. I am not set on any one unit,just want the markings to be correct for the vehicle. Any information will be welcome.
