Couple questions

Well, Ive always wanted to be a grunt since before I could remember, so now that I'm actually able to make it happen Ive got a couple questions.

First off I'm wondering If my academic history would have a negative affect on anything. When I was 14 I pretty much dropped out of school, mainly just because of lack of motivation, I simply didn't care about my education, or anything for that matter. This went on until about 6 months ago. I was 18 with a Gr.9 education, and finally decided to go back to school, which is where I'm at now. The program I'm doing now will get me my Gr.12 by this time next year.
Would this have any affect on my recruitment process or anything else?

I'm also wondering what the Infantry is like, now that we no longer have a significant role in Afghanistan? Deployment wise. Would the travel opportunities differ now that so much of our military is no longer dedicated to one spot on the map?

thanks

ps: I did use the search function, the little info that I did find was very dated.

http://www.forces.ca/en/home/  CF recruitment website

http://www.forces.ca/en/page/doyouqualify-105  Do you Qualify page

http://www.forces.ca/en/question/sendusaquestion-111  The email for recruiting

and I searched "Daily infantry life" and the 4th thread was  "Life as an Infantry Soldier?", page 4 had some info to go over.
