What the **** is a Claymor anyways?
I always see them mentioned in such unreal video games and stuff, and whenever i play the games and use a Claymor nothing ever happens

what are they used for?

Well a claymore is one of 2 items.
A) A large broadsword used by Scots(Highlanders)
B) an antipersonel devise used in ambushes, or as perimiter protection. Can be set off with a trip wire or manually.
Esy to use as it has markings "this side towards enemy"
Its filled with plastic explosives and steel ball bearings

Except now we CAN only use it via command detonation which means it more likley to be used in a defenceive position like a troop hide.

The claymore was initially considered an "anti personnel" mine, however after the Ottawa treaty, it became a "weapon", so the CF can legally use it (and we do) in operations. The reason is: we use it with the "clicker" that detonates it manually from a distance. It is not extremely effective, but it is certain to make the guys in front of it $hit their pants...!!!
