I don't know what he wants if that didn't help.  Even when he is given the link, he wants more.  I guess he wants a face to face, fed by a silver spoon, type of reply.

This would indicate that he is too lazy to go to CJIRU.

AFAIK you are still a cadet, and not a CF member.  Don't worry about CANSOFCOM units as you are a long way from even applying to one.

CJIRU does some pretty phenomenal stuff, but you're some years away yet from being in a position to concern yourself with it. Get settled into the forces first, get a sense for whatever's out there, and then start asking questions once you're actually in a position to understand the answers you're given.

That's not a shot at you- honestly it's not. Being keen is good, but it needs to be tempered with experience.

Don't you think I already checked CJIRU and CANSOFCOM's website. I am looking for information on the selection process, which both websites don't have. I know JTF2 didn't have info on their selection on their website, but I still found information on it. So I want to know I there is a PSP document on CJIRU selection.

CADPAT15,  AFAIK all of the unit recruiting info is only found on their DWAN websites an no longer on their internet sites.  For info from an official source,  this is the best you are going to find on the internet AFAIK  http://www.cjiru-uiic.forces.gc.ca/rs/index-eng.asp

If you are no longer a cadet,  what are you then?  Unless you are a CF member CANSOFCOM is something far off for you at this point in time,  the info find now may no longer be applicable by the time you are ready to go ahead and apply.


What PSP document are you looking for regarding selection?  All they would have would be the physical requirements and possibly a workout guide.  Outside of that,  you won't find any selection info from them.

im a cadet and i can learn/grasp things quickley i.e the callsign elphabet, hand signals etc...
and i had a 2 PPCLI that told me people with NLD may excel at military teaching

In June he said he was joining the reserves. If so, and if he was successful, he's likely on BMQ at the moment.

How to join CANSOFCOM

If you are interested in working in a unique environment, CANSOFCOM can provide that challenge to you whether it is in a support role or in one of the operator focused roles.

Civilian Applicants

There are no direct entry programs into CANSOFCOM units. The personnel in these units have a minimum of two years in the Canadian Forces, and have demonstrated that they have the special attributes and training desired to fill these demanding roles. If you think that service in CANSOFCOM is your preferred career path, you are encouraged to contact your local Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre for more information on careers in the military.

CF Applicants

CANSOFCOM units recruit directly from the CF (Regular and Reserve Force) for a variety of employment. The CANSOFCOM method of selection is dependant on the unit and the position sought. So it is not helpful to send you to the only official on-line website with the information you are looking for.  Instead you want un-official information on a special forces unit because that will make you better informed.  Just a hint, some who actually has the information to pass on is not likely to share it with some random person on the internet.  If they are, the information is probably worth what you paid for it.

If you can't develop that line of reasoning on your own, good luck with any sort of rigorous selection.

I always have been interested in joining the Canadian Joint Incident Response Unit (CJIRU), especially if future wars will be fought by using nothing but chemical weapons and bombs, Canada will be needing allot of CJIRU soldiers later on. I was never able to get even the slightest bit of information on CJIRU, like what are their requirements? If they are working with chemical weapons, will i need to take a science course? Is their physical requirements the same as JTF2?
Please let me know, i have been curiouse for a while now.
