career course while on T6

First time in my career I'm on a medical cat so I have some questions.

I'm on a T6 with restriction on my MOC and geographical.

1- My COC is trying to send me on career course while on T6 with the above restriction, the course is outside of my province and, I have med appointment every 2 weeks, Can they force me to go?

2- My T6 is probably going to become perm category, can they still force me to go on course? (they are upset about sending me on course)

I want my medical taking care of before I go on course. If I'm going to get a med release, I don't see the point of doing a career course.

I tried to find some reference in CFAO and DOAD but not much there.

Any help with reference or experience would be appreciated

Thanks

First off, if you're on a your first T6, unless there isn't any hope of recovery, I wouldn't count on a medical release just yet.  Those take awhile to get and get to, and there has to be absolutely no progress at the end of the first TCat with little or no hope of change before a release on medical grounds will be recommended.  If your G factor says "requires frequent specialist follow up every 'x' days/weeks", I wouldn't think they can send you out of the area.  If the G factor says "requires frequent medical follow up" only, they might have a leg to stand on if that care can be arranged with a GDMO at the base you're going to and that same level of care can be provided.  However, your course directors might have something to say about you losing time on course every 1-2 weeks.

Either way, look at the actual restrictions and if it still doesn't make sense, engage your health care provider - they'll advise you, and if necessary, your CoC, what the implications of the category and restrictions are.

Having said that - the first paragraph is my opinion only based on the information provided, but the second one is what you really have to pay attention to...I only have your 1/4 of the story, so please don't go to your CoC saying "MM on Army.ca said this..." as your reference in a memo.
