Hi all,

I am expected to be done BMOQ on May 2nd and was wondering what comes after that for Armour Officer Regular force?

What courses will there be and how long is each course? I have read they are in Gagetown.

Thank you.

You’ll take the following courses:

Basic Military Officer Qualification - Army (BMOQ-A): this is typically done at the Infantry School in Gagetown but it is also run at regional training centers. It’s around 12 weeks and focuses on leadership in a tactical environment at the dismounted section level. All Army officers take this (plus some others and minus some specialists).

Developmental Period 1.1 Armour (DP 1.1 Armour): this is run at the Armour School in Gagetown. Teaches crew commanding. It is also in the 12 week range.

Developmental Period 1.2 Armour (DP 1.2 Armour). Teaches Troop Leading and is also run at the Armour School in Gagetown.

Thank you for reply, Online BMOQ-A shows 50 days duration for officers, IS THAT OUTDATED?

50 training days is roughly 10 weeks plus some admin days in there gets it close to 12 weeks.

Get ready for the crash course of your life on ATL. I've instructed the crew commander portion before as an NCO and boy oh boy, that is a challenging but heavily rewarding course. Good luck to you.

I am not sure what document you are looking at. As Puckchaser said, even it if it is 50 training days (I was tracking 55), that works out to ten weeks before accounting for any admin days/stat holidays. So ten to twelve weeks. In any case, if you are Regular Force they will simply load you on a serial and off you go. You will likely have some periods of time between courses where they will place you on OJE.
