Hi folks, sorry to bump an old thread but I was wondering if anyone had info they could share regarding when troops from TF 1-07 are deploying to Afghanistan (I recall that it was in February). A few of my buddies are going but unfortunately I've been out of the loop here at university.

Even if another round is not being immediately loaded, you want to get ready of the empty casing so when it does come time to load you don't have to worry about it.

That would be one of my concerns, I've seen Bdrs or Cpls graduate PLQ and just remain at their rank but be tasked with leadership jobs. In this way, they are being given Cpl pay to do a MCpl's job. And in my case it doesn't seem to be that just "promising privates" are the ones being offered...

When do you think is a good time or when is too soon for a reservist to go on PLQ? This question arises after being offered PLQ about 7 months after completing QL3 and having less than a year and a half in. I'm still in high school and therefore don't even have the option to take this course...

Aptitude test - It's tougher than the example questions they give you when you're signing up..but if you hav e a decent vocabulary and math skills..you should do fine. Interview - Just act natural and make yourself sound good. Don't point out negative things if it's not important.

I did pushups and situps a while before the test to get ready, but didn't find it too difficult. 19 pushups with no time limit, 19 situps in one minute I believe.

When I joined, last November, I had to do the step test (I did my physical fitness test at the local YMCA) It was just about 5 or 6 minutes of stepping up and down a small set of stairs (2 or 3 steps up against a wall) It was done to music that got a little faster as it went along.
