Advice needed - Best Winter Gloves?

I'll totally agree; but don't expect wind or water resistence from fleece.  If you're spending the money, put it into the outers; you'll be taking them off when performing tactile tasks like filling stoves, etc.

Advice needed - Best Winter Gloves?

I'll second this; if there's any mountaineers or ice climbers here, they'll tell you its better to slip your bare hands out of a good pair of mitts once and a while, rather than risk losing circulation from cold glove hands.  My suggestion? A thinner pair of insulated tac gloves under a big...

    Is Patrolman Officer Material(CEOTP)?

Just a little perspective from a "civie" on the outside......   I visited three recruiters, in three offices(nov25-dec5,2006), looking to enter as non-commissioned for infantry, but was encouraged to pursue Armoured Officer in each instance, via ROTP or CEOTP. Though I thought the "pay my dues"...

BOTC training session in the SPRING??

This question was posted as a direct result of speaking with a CF recruiter this aft. He told me to "get my application in right away", and he would "do what he could to get me on the Jan 15 2007 course". He informed me that the next "window" for Armoured was in September 2007. At this...

G&M: CBC's military obsession just feels creepy

ACTA NON VERBA. Be proud of the goals all of you have accomplished; the CBC story hit home with many here in Toronto, and we truely see the effort all of you put forward. Articles such as this will not sway the hearts nor minds of the civies who stand behind the troops and the battles they face.

Does the CF need any Baby Boomers?

I had the same thoughts; am I too old for this?    Fifteen years ago, I was discouraged from joining, by a young recruiter who, looking back, had a terrible chip on his shoulder.  I became frustrated, and with a negative outlook, I left my RMC dreams behind and went travelling for a couple...

Yet another SARTECH Question.......   I'm a 33 year old civilian with extensive training & experience (IRATA L3, SPRAT CSR2, BSLS Medic, Rescue Diver, UIAA Guide 2, 720 FF jumps), and am looking for a challenging career. I've travelled the world, but always found that my employment lacked a...
