I just visited a friend in winnipeg while on leave who is waiting for his MET Tech course to start. His starts in April I think. Anyway he had his own room with a double bed, TV with free cable (All provided and paid for), and his own sink. And it's a single room, no roomates. And thats his room...

CFSATE has a lot of people waiting for courses to start. Supposedly there is suppose to be an AVN course starting every three weeks now. Anyone not on course sits in PAT platoon. Basically you sit in the canteen all day and some odd job comes by once in a while. Right now i'm in a room with 4...

11 weeks... now there 13 weeks long....

I just finished the first Reg BMQ that went through Borden... At our End course critique we were told a lot of things would be changed for the next bunch of recruits. More classrooms for starters, (6 instead of 2). Classes will be taught in a sequencial sp? order (ie: drill). More PT, (Instead...

I did my BMQ/SQ co-op two years ago. Mon -Fri from 1245-1800 5 weekends (We spent an extra weekend to learn the Carl G Awesome time, with a good instructor to recruit ratio. My section was 6 people with a Section cmdr, and a 2i/c.(unlike reg force BMQ where we had one section cmdr for 20 recruits)

He wasn't in my platoon but I chatted with him briefly in the field phase. He's old school (Airborne armoured recce), but he's an amazing instructor.

Well it's week 8 for the first platoon going through Basic Military Training in Borden. You can certainly tell were the first course to go through this training center. Hopefully things will improve as other courses move in and out through the years. If anyone has any questions i'm here for 30...
