LPC leadership race - 2025

She must be having money troubles.

In 2015 Trudeau built his cabinet based on diversity, equity and inclusion. But he called it "because it's 2015" back then.

Some worked out, some didn't.
Assembling a cabinet is always a political challenge. There’s regional representation factors, blocs of power and influence internal to the party, linguistic balance… Sometimes that leaves room for ministerial selections with specific relevant experience or expertise, but often not.

You're absolutely correct. And knowing when and who to choose is the key. Opinions differ on JTs success in this facet of his time on office.

Meanwhile, like a bad penny.... ;)

Former B.C. premier Christy Clark considering a federal election run after Carney’s blowout win

When Justin Trudeau announced he would step down as Liberal Leader, former B.C. premier Christy Clark seriously considered throwing her hat in the ring for the federal leadership race.

It was her lack of fluency in French that ultimately led her to bow out, and Mark Carney won the vote in a landslide.

With a new leader in place, Clark is now considering running as a federal Liberal in B.C. in the next election.

“I really believe in this party,” said Clark.

“I believe in Mark Carney, and I believe in what we need to do to grow our country’s economy and lessen our dependance on the United States. So I am seriously thinking about running in this election to support the Liberal Party.”

I laugh, but only a fool would count her out.

Clark considering running. Endorsement from Charest and him approached about a role. Peter Kent is a little long in the tooth, but I wonder if there's any discussions happening with Tasha Kheiriddin and/or Rick Peterson.

He’s trying to get the LPC a more centered. He should approach Dominic Cardy’s upstart party and get them aboard.

Along with a 10-15% cut to the Civil Service ranks, excluding the CAF, RCMP, CSIS and CCG.
Cuts to the PS are starting and will happen. Was going to happen regardless of who is in power.

RCMP just announced its new white paper so I expect if that is the route they follow the RCMP will see some PS shedding or reallocation of people.

Do you mean former CAF and RCMP who released and got hired on through priority hiring.
I mean I don't want to see ANY cuts to staffing at those departments. For the CAF I'd like to see as much as possible a lifting of any restrictions in terms of the number of new recruits that can be efficiently and effectively added on a yearly basis until we reach the 80K mark and then, look at that number being increase to 90K+.

Depends who runs in the next election, we have a ton of open liberal spots. Even Chris Hadfield has been sounding a little political lately on social media, he would be an interesting candidate.
I'm glad it's not just me that noticed, and frankly I'd welcome it.
