Not a SME, just a dude who’s done the job for a few years, some on the streets and some behind a desk, I do have a body of experience in use of force training and public order, but I’m not a real SME on that who’d speak to in court or in an inquiry. This is just my individual perspectives.
You're milnet.ca's SME whether you like it or not!

Israel’s intelligence services have enrolled a swathe of new recruits from within Gaza to aid them in their search for the remaining hostages.

It has become much easier to draw Gazans in to work for Israel after the breakout of war on Oct 7, intelligence sources told the Telegraph, with offers of cash, immunity from prosecution, or physical safety.

At the same time it is easier for elite units of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to enter the Gaza Strip unnoticed, and one source told The Telegraph a huge team of specialists trained to blend into the Palestinian community was currently working through key locations in the area.

Or they are not doing so, but breeding mistrust amongst Palestinians to each other. The Brits used to turn captured CT's and then release them. It got so bad the CT's were busy offing each other and comms between groups broke down, along with a lot of intel flowing back to the Brits.

This is like the difference between bacon and eggs ...

With bacon and eggs the chicken was involved, but the pig was committed.

COIN can't be successful if you're not a pig.

And sometimes not even then :)

Sure. Encampment season has started. If this lasts another 7 or 8 months, the encampments will disappear to wherever encampments go when the weather isn't cooperative.
Or when the .gov gets sick of them.

See what has occurred a lot down here.

The hamas support group has set-up a tent city encampment at McGill.

Does anyone care if these degenerates are on university grounds...probably not.

I'm glad they're all wearing masks, don't want to get infected with fresh air.

How many of them are McGill students ?

Meh, the weather wasn’t really a factor when the convoy encamped in Ottawa. But they were probably better equipped for winter.

A lot of them stayed in vehicles or hotels, and probably the majority of the crowd were local anyway. We saw it swell significantly on weekends.

And I’m willing to bet most have no clue what they are protesting McGill for exactly.
Nope, it’s just a nucleus for others to latch on to. Not an unusual dynamic at all,

I can’t help but cynically note that the student-led occupation started after classes were done for the semester. I bet most of them were conspicuously absent from the protest camp when it was exam time.

If McGill decides to have police deal with this it’ll be ugly. SPVM don’t dick around; Quebec police are just on a different level than the rest of us with public order stuff.

Bonjour la police!
