Seems like we found the definition to "queer *****".
Seeing this almost made me quit.
This military is a f***ing joke.  No money for training for war, but we can lop the knob off some insecure wierdo.
Too much...

Hi Inf,

I was going to send you an e-mail that would make your day, but not listed in your profile.

Here is a little riddle to work through.

The Toronto Metro had a Constable who went through a similar process  .

I defy you to find out where she is now living and with whom? The answer will suprise even the warmest and fuzziest in our happy little dysfunctional cyber family. ;)

I am almost tempted to attach a prize to this, but I think the answer will suffice :D .

Happy hunting  .

As an afterthought! :warstory:

Just so we can keep this in perspective, if that is possible… :)

Let’s be realistic, this is a double-edged sword. I am not going into it to deeply, however. We are dealing with two people who have the support of the medical community WRT what is happening in their lives. On the other extreme, where does it stop?

In the abstract, how many people truly have the courage to face their darkest secrets and to make changes accordingly?

We have a lot of soldiers down with physical and psychological injuries, in our society of today; many find comfort on either extreme of the opinion pendulum. WRT to PTSD, if you had it, would you not want the CF and VAC to do everything for you to get your life back to a semblance of normalcy? If you lost a limb, wouldn’t you want the ability for mobility? These are handicaps that we expect care for.

So what makes Durand different? Look at the big picture…

This is a Pandora’s box if ever there was one, but it falls into what is socially acceptable and why would you draw a line? After all, is not the CF a microcosm of Canadian Society  (tongue in cheek)?

Forgot to add, ""Let the Games Begin, release the Lions".

:fifty:

No, it is not a micrpocosm of society and god forbid it ever becomes so.
Byu that logic 40% of our members should be obese, a fair number should be drug users of various sorts, a large percentage should be ciminals, child molestors, rapists, and murderers, we should be 51% female, all trades, a quarter of our members should be pacifists and various other forms of hippy/commie/socialist, plus the various slackers, losers, and wastes of air inherent in society.

In short, this society is the last ****ing thing I want to blend in with.

Besides, is there ANY other employer in Canada who would pay for their employee to have a sex change?
Is there any evidence it has PTSD? Even so, what does gender have to do with trauma sustained overseas? Looks to me like it was handicapped when it enlisted.
That decision may have improved the quality of life of one person.. but it has cerainly has an enormous effect on many other soldiers - embarassment. Is the resulting drop in morale of thousands of other soldiers worth making one person happy? How much more could that money have done for other soldiers morale?
I say that was a waste of money, the detriment to overall morale far outweighed any benefit to the individual, and it goes against any military ethos or army culture. What is even more disturbing is the fcat that DND then goes on to advertise and brag about doing this- if ever there was something that needed to be covered up, this is it!

And OK, the Brits pay for women to have breast enhancement. At least that raises the morale of other soldiers.

Oh yeah..
Over on the LFRR board it was suggested that a chin-up bar be placed at the entrance to all armouries and NDHQ, and every soldier that wants to go in has to do 7 chin-ups, otherwise they can‘t get in.

I‘ll bet $$$ it can‘t do 7 chinups. :D

Hooah Enfield, good post. If anything, I joined to get away from being associated with mainstream society.

With regards to this...
If you lost a limb, wouldn’t you want the ability for mobility? These are handicaps that we expect care for.

You can‘t even relate the two. How does someone who loses their limb in the service of their country compare with this queer bitch having some f***ed up, screw-loose head problems.
I have a Sgt. in my unit, really good guy, old-school jump platoon type who broke his leg in three places while doing workup for Croatia. Years later, he starts having problems with it again and asks the military for help. He gets the door slammed in his face. How can the military than turn around and agree to fund this little Frankenstein‘s f***ing castration. This is a f***ing embarrasment, and right now I am ashamed of the CF for its placement of priorities.

I also know people who got injured and had the door slammed on their posterior. One poor chap lost a part of his foot on tour, went through rehab for several months, and was told he was good to go (100% functional with a prosthetic). The kid was all geared up to go back to the Bn, however, within a couple of weeks he had his TQ Civvie marching orders. Seems that a prosthetic was grounds for release in the good ole CF.

We preach quality of life, needs of the individual, operational necessities etc. But where do we draw the line? In one camp, “you go girl” and in the other, “what the +^@$ are we doing”.

I think I am in need of a new vocation where I don‘t have to deal with people, or at least a vacation in the interim.
