I have been lurking here for a while maily in the recruiting information, but I have done a little bit of study on the weapons, and in all the pictures/videos I can find the weapon is being fired with the right hand on the trigger and left hand supporting the barrel (sorry if my terminology is overly basic/inaccurate), also I noticed that the port where used shells is released from is on the right hand side of the gun (if looking from the rear towards the tip of the barrel). I was wondering if it is a requirement for consistency purposes or otherwise that Soldiers are required to fire a rifle â Å“right-handedâ ? I ask this because I am very left handed and have always fired weapons (air-rifles, bows, paintball guns) in a â Å“left handedâ ? manner, but all these weapons are designed quite symmetrically (with the exception of the bow which I had to find a left handed one). I was wondering if the standard issue rifle was symmetrical or if there were mirrored variants of the weapon available for people who are not right handed

Most shoulder fired weapons can be effectively operated from either shoulder. Just take practice. While not having "mirrored" variants, we are moving toward more ambidextrous models.

doesn't the C7 have a deflector for the brass so that it doesn't affect lefties?

Yes, the spent casing deflector helps stop the rounds from flying in your face. :P

Thanks for the info. i figured there would be something for us lefties as to not put us at a disadvantage.
