I just got some dates for BIQ this summer. I was told it was 4-19 July. Isn't that kind of short? Only 2 weeks to learn everything. Is it just me or is this a lot shorter than previous BIQ courses?
Hmm are you sure? I don't have the specific date on me but i remember it ended on the 26th or something.. it should be at least 3 weeks long. I will ask someone about it.
To clarify any confusion regarding the length of the DP 1 Infantry (commonly refereed to as the BIQ):
Primary Reserve DP 1 Infantry (08246) is 22 training days.
Regular Force DP 1 Infantry (AABS) is 43 training days.
The difference in length is accounted for those POs which are supplemental (as opposed to essential) for PRes students and are therefore not normally included in the training schedule. This includes:
PO 103 - Fire the SRAAW (H) - 1.5 days
PO 105 - Perform Combat Physical Tasks - 6.5 days
PO 109 - Participate in Airmobile Operations - 1.6 days
PO 110 - Operate LAV III Ancillary Equipment - 2.2 days
PO 111 - Conduct Dismounted Unique and Transitional Operations - 8.7 days
EDO 101 - Describe Regimental History - 0.4 days
EDO 102 - Describe Combat Arms - 0.4 days
