Rigging a tow at sea and dealing with underwater winches

Lot's of good hard work there

Im Not No Way GIF

Yep! Been there: rig for tow aft in SS7, at night. Doesn't matter what you wear, the feck crew comes back in wet from head to toes.
Well once your wet you're wet. Its just a matter of temperature.....

FWIW that video is....crazy.....

We were prepping to tow the sister of the Exxon Valdez, our 1100 Class icebreaker looked like a toy besides her. Our tow gear was not really going to be up to the task, more like holding her from drifting closer to the coast. Thankfully a oceangoing tug arrived just in time for us to avoid having to couple up.

Wasn't trying to flex. Just said I hate them.

Can imagine that was too shelf experience

I really need to drink more coffee before typing replies. Wa wa wee wa that's bad lol.

On the bright side, cafe Americano #2 on my balcony in Chania Greece. War is hell I tell you ;)

Neither was I- I was agreeing with you.

If a few hours of rigging for tow sucks, consider 5 days of it…

My bad. Cheers mate.
