question about IPC and specialist pay...

Hi...  I have re-enlisted as "able seaman" with IPC3 and my trade is "marine engineering mechanic".  What does IPC3 means?  does it mean that I will be promoted to "leading seaman" next year?  Also, my trade gets spec pay (I beleive you get spec 1 when you become leading seaman) so if in fact I get promoted to leading seaman next year, I should get the spec 1 pay scale right away, right?

Aw....come on now!  You have been on this site how long?  Please use the SEARCH FUNCTION and look up IPC and Pay Scales.  You will find all the answers there.  So many before you have asked and gotten the same answers you will find in those posts.  Links are also to the CF site, so they won't be wrong.
