Brilliant. Apparently the nuances of Information Operations are lost on you.
One word: "Disinformation"
Apparently they are, and in lieu of any further exposition beyond that one word, here is my conclusion. If this confusion is the purpose of the "information operation". then you gentlemen are very crafty indeed.
Possibility #1) Threat levels have indeed gone down, and leaders are now confident enough to send out patrols unencumbered by body armour.
#2) I am the victim of a nefarious CF "disinformation" campaign designed to mislead me, and the canadian public, into thinking that threat levels have gone down, when in fact they have not. Members in photos released on the internet (and presumably approved by the chain of command) go to length to show that they are without armour, but immedietly don armour after the photos are taken.
#3) They're all JTF!! and JTF doesn't need no stinkin armour! or helmets!!!
I think I'll go with #3.
Hey Britney, do force protection measures and current alert states sound like things we should be discussing in this open source forum?
With all due respect, why not? I'm sure analysts all over Canada and the world are doing so as we speak. I was just "discussing" and speculating on this very issue with my next door neighbour, it didn't go too far as neither myself nor my neighbour knew a thing about what force protection measures and alert states are like in theatre, but I hope no one called CSIS on us! Now, discussion that includes DISCLOSURE of sensitive information on a public message board would be another matter entirely, but I don't think I have to worry about that too much, seeing as how I don't actually posses any.
