Info about grandfather who was a field engineer

My grandfather Norris Mills was a field engineer in the years approximately in the years from 1940-1970's. He was posted in Chillawack,Petawawa,England and ended up in Gagetown.He started as a Private and ended as a Captain.I don't know more details than that at this point in time. I am just looking for information on him or where to go to find it. If anyone could give me any info on this matter it would be greatly appreciated.
