This message has absolutely nothing to do with the CF, Military function or the Army so anyone that wants to can skip to the next message.
I had to tell someone and no one will believe me so...
My significant other wife was travelling along a road in Ontario a couple of days ago and was threatened with a gun by a Bozo with an attitude in another vehicle. Being fearful for her safety and the safety of our children she immediately contacted the local Gendarmes and advised them of the license plate number and a description of the vehicle. Now you may think that my S.O. may have mistaken something for a weapon when it wasn‘t any such thing but she is a certified FAC instructor, sport shooter and military type person,so it‘s reasonable to assume that it was a firearm as described. The Gendarmes bless their little hearts decided that descretion was the better part of valour and contacted the Bozo the next day at his place of residence. He denied owning a firearm, does not have a FAC but does have a history of violence dating back several years. I asked the officer that had conducted the interview what the fact of not having a FAC had to do with anything and was promptly advised that if the Bozo had a FAC/PAL there would be justification to examine the house for firearms.
Think about that for a minute and collect yourselves. If you are a lawful firearms user and have registered your firearms with the local PS, then the knowledge of that ownership is justification for entry and seizure if found. However, if you do not register your illegal firearms there is no justification and the local Gendarmes thank you and walk away. That‘s one **** of a message to send to the bad guys!
Mr. Eamer if you‘re scanning this, I‘m not slamming the locals, I‘m slamming the morons that have decided that this is effective gun control.
I don‘t expect any responses to this post...it‘s just that when I write something down, the ire that burns my *** mellows somewhat and I can fall asleep safe in the knowledge that Politicians haven‘t changed a damned thing no matter how much money they spend.
